Our bodies are brilliantly designed organisms, capable of doing extraordinary things. But if we do not properly nurture our bodies, they can become sick, tired, dysfunctional, and possibly infected with disease. Even the American Cancer Society cites unhealthy diets and tobacco as causes of one of the most deadly diseases, cancer.
While it is extremely important as to what we put in our body, what we exert from our body is just as much a priority to achieve health and happiness. Generally, when we imagine the benefits of working out, we think of weight loss or muscle building. However, exerting such energy comes with many additional benefits.
The mind is such a magnificent and powerful machine, capable of endless abilities. It can devise the creation of something as complex as the Internet, to something as simple as feeling happy doing absolutely nothing at all. While how we look and feel physically can certainly impact our state of mind (if we let it), with discipline, our mind can affect our physical appearance and health.
